TC2 & TMI2 Traffic Management (High Volume Roads) Melbourne

The following pre-requisites apply for participants of the (TC2 / TMI2) Category 2 Traffic Course in Melbourne:

TC2 prerequisites are:

• Completion of TC1 RIISS00058 Traffic Controller Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads
• At least 40 hours of experience as a traffic controller after completion of TC1

TMI2 prerequisites are:

• Completion of the TMI1 RIISS00060 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads (TMI Essentials); and
• At least one month experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the above-mentioned skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace;
  and/or
• Providing evidence of relevant experience setting up at least 12 temporary traffic management types which may include high speed roads or high-volume roads, and at least two of the following types:
  • pedestrian and cyclist controls
  • construction sites
  • lane closures
  • shoulder closures
  • night works
  • use of portable traffic control devices
  • motorways or freeways

Please Note: Types of evidence required:

12 x Traffic Worksheets / Timesheets or payslips which cover a (1) one month period, and which include a minimum of 40 hours and at least 12 different live set ups (Locations)

And Self Assessment / Third Party Report

Which will be verified by your employer

Upon enrolment each student will complete the above self-assessment document, so we can verify all entry requirements

• Photo proof of ID (drivers' licence/passport).
• Students must be able to converse and comprehend entry level English reading a writing.

Note:Please inform us upon registration, if you feel you have any literacy or numeracy difficulties. Some reasonable adjustments to the course can be made to assist.

We are available prior to your training session to explain the learning and assessment process, including instructions on how to complete the post learning practical live assessment and logbook by email or Phone: 1300 747 430.

On successful completion of all course requirements and assessments, you will receive Statements of Attainments for the skills sets (TC2) RIISS00059 Traffic Controller Skill Set for High Volume Roads and (TMI2) RIISS00061 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for High Volume Roads.

Within 30 days of successful course completion students will also receive a Digital Training Card.

Credit Transfer: Not Applicable

Recognition of prior learning - Current employees of Victorian Traffic Management companies may be eligible for RPL in to the skill set, please contact us on info@shortcoursesau.edu.au or view our Student Handbook for more information.

The units provide credit towards several Certificate II and Certificate III qualifications in the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package and other training packages, such as RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent.
