New Entrant Liquor Licence Training
New Entrant Liquor Licence Training is a training standard developed by LCV – Liquor Control Victoria to ensure that applicants have an adequate knowledge of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998.
Short Courses Australia is accredited by the Director of Liquor Control Victoria, to deliver New Entrant Liquor Licence Training throughout Victoria.
Courses are delivered either face to face in a classroom setting or via virtual online classroom via live teleconferencing, using ZOOM.
The New Entrant Liquor Licence Training program includes:
- the legislative environment for liquor licensees
- understanding liquor licences
- best practice in managing licenced premises.
An application for a liquor licence will not be granted until New Entrant Liquor License Training and a Liquor Control Victoria accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) are completed and submitted with your application for all liquor licence categories except for a BYO permit and pre-retail licence.
Applicants who need to complete New Entrant Liquor Licence Training (NET) and RSA with Short Courses Australia are:
- Individuals – all natural person applicants
- Partnerships – all partners
- Company (body corporate) – at least one director
- Club – at least one committee member
- Association – at least one committee member, and all applicants:
- for appointment as a nominee
- Seeking approval to sublet any part of the licensed premises, or to carry on the business of supplying liquor on the licensed premises.
- New license applications
- Transfer of licence applications
- Nominee changes / adjustments
- Director or partner changes / adjustments

Completion
Upon successful completion of this (1) one day New Entrant Liquor Licence Training (NET) course, you will receive a certificate of completion that allows you to add to your application to become a licensee throughout Victoria.
In addition to your New Entrant Liquor License Training certificate, you will also require a current Liquor Control Victoria approved Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. Click Here to book an LCV approved RSA course.
A copy of both training certificates should be included with the licence application.

Proof Of Indentity
Participants are required to bring proof of identification documents, such as a passport or driver's licence on the day of training.
