Short Courses Australia Presents JOB CAMP


Short Courses Australia is offering its popular JOB CAMP at Cranbourne Secondary College. Participants recieve local access to pre employment compliance certificates and coaching in the job search process, including inteview techniques. 

The program combines essential pre requisite to employment compliance Certificates with JOB SEARCH training and Employment Opportunities.

Graduate Students receive certificates in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), Food Safety Handling (FSH) and First Aid that they can attach to an expertly crafted cover letter and resume.

Students are then encouraged to apply for employment with local businesses.

 

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

Short Courses Australia is accredited by the Director of Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR), to deliver the Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) course in Victoria.

This session, includes the full national unit of competency SITHFAB002 Responsible Service of Alcohol.

The RSA is a 6-hour course.

It is a requirement that anyone working within a licensed alcohol-serving venue in Victoria holds a VCGLR accredited RSA certificate.

Food Safety Handler (FSH)

In this 4-hour course, participants receive a certificate in SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety.

The course is relevant to any person seeking employment in hospitality and services type roles that directly handle food or food contact surfaces such as cutlery, plates and bowls during the course of their daily work activities, including restaurants, cafes, clubs, hotels, and bars; function, event, exhibition and conference catering; aged care facilities; hospitals; cafeterias, kiosks, canteens and fast food outlets; and transport catering.

Provide First Aid

In this 7-hour course participants receive HLTAID003 Provide first aid. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings

Participants are trained in the following areas:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Evaluate the incident and own performance.

Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee

During this six (6) hour course, you will learn essential coffee skills in a group environment that allows time to receive practical training and to then making coffee under the supervision of our qualified barista trainer.

Short Courses Australia have aligned this course with the national unit of competence SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee and participants will receive training in the following: 

  • History and origins of coffee;
  • Grind management and dosing;
  • The start-up and break down of a coffee machine;
  • Creating up to 12 different coffee styles;
  • Develop skill required to texture milk;
  • Tasting and understanding the ranges and strengths of coffee.

 

Prepare & Serve Non-Alcoholic Beverages (Introduction)

During this six (6) hour course, you will learn essential skills in a group environment that allows time to receive practical training and to then make non-alcoholic beverages under the supervision of our qualified hospitality trainer.
Short Courses Australia have aligned this course with the national unit of competence SITHFAB004 Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages and participants will receive training in the following:

  • History of flavours, styles and brands and equipment of non-alcoholic beverages
  • Understanding the use of garnishes and glassware
  • The design and implementation of a unique non-alcoholic beverage
  • Creating up to 10 different styles;
  • Tasting and understanding the ranges of non-alcoholic beverages
  • Simulate a real life hospitality experience.

JOB CAMP Classic dedicates 2 hours to Job Search and includes the following learning modules:

  • Job interview training
  • 10 Common Interview Questions.

Industry Trainers

Our Industry Trainers have over 10 years Hospitality or First Aid experience and hold vocational qualifications in their field, including the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent) and current Working with Children Card.
